The designs were inspired by Carlo Mollino’s work of the 50’s and the animation style is a homage to the film “Harpya” by Raoul Servais (1979). This film is our humble attempt in combining their work in a surrealistic experiment. Thus in the animation we will use mixed collage, cut-outs and stop motion techniques. The main character is an animated live actor. For the backgrounds we are currently testing a full 3D scaled model of the house interior (see the photos below - work in progress), that will be shot in stop-motion then composed with the animation. In some scenes, as needed, the backgrounds will turn into surreal collages, or drawings.
